We made it! The move from San Francisco to Weymouth (home to the busiest Dunkin' Donuts in the country!) was a success, though our poor car arrived almost one month after we did. God only knows what Old Corolla saw on her 30 day trip cross-country. Still, we all got here in one piece and are settling in nicely.
We go through bouts of homesickness and have experienced some days marked with doubt, but all in all, Jon and I are feeling pretty good about bringing Baby Boag Regan (BBR) into the world via Massachusetts' South Shore. Our house is warm and cozy and now that we know how to build a proper fire in the fireplace, things are on the up and up here at 40 Huntington Ave. Also, I've made friends with the guys at Olympic Pizza in Columbian Sq. -- they know to put hot peppers on the pregnant lady's steak and cheese sub. And we went on a tour of South Shore Hospital's new maternity wing Sunday and were very impressed. In addition to its rating as a Level III maternity ward and its state of the art equipment and all of those important things, the birthing unit looks and feels like a hotel, which makes me all the more excited to get there. And free banana muffins in the waiting room!
In other news, today I am officially 37 weeks and BBR is -- based on last week's ultrasound -- thought to be almost 7 lbs. My belly is enormous and I have trouble getting outside due to relentless snow storms, icy sidewalks, and an overall lack of desire to be any place but horizontal on the couch. I think it's time for BBR to join us.
How is it that jack is so large yet your arms are so small?
