I'm back. We're back. Lots to post, backlogged again. If anyone is actually still reading this blog, here is a recap of our 4th of July Weekend:
Our first stop was Danbury, CT, home to our good friends Denise, Bill, and Jack. Now, many of you know Denise simply as an Associate Editor at Fine Cooking magazine but I have the good fortune of knowing Denise, or Nee Nee as we affectionately call her, from City Honors School in Buffalo, NY, where we met back in 1990. Nee Nee and I have been friends ever since.
During our two-day stay with the Mickelsens we enjoyed great company, exceptional food (chicken and corn grilled to perfection, homemade pizza, fresh scones)in their beautiful home, and the loving kisses of their well-trained dog Jack. We regrettably had to leave mid-day on Saturday, but not before we all enjoyed a stop at Bethel, CT's famous Dr. Mike's Ice Cream (everyone raves about the Chocolate Lace but I had a scoop of the Cranberry Fudge something-or-other and it was nothing to sneeze at).
Thanks, Mickelsens! We'll be back!
The Boys: Bill, Theo, and Jack:

Nee Nee and Theo:

Mommy and Theo:

Jack:

Next stop was Red Hook, NY, where we paid a visit to our friends Brian, Natalie, and Lucas, who kindly invited us to share in the 4th of July festivities with Natalie's extended family. Our gracious hosts put out an impressive spread and welcomed us with open arms (though as usual, Theo's gorgeous face was really our meal ticket). We spent the night in Stuyvesant, NY, at Brian and Natalie's home, and left mid-day on Sunday, after Natalie cooked us an enormous country breakfast and packed us some cupcakes for the road!
The Fores Family (and Theo):

We concluded our weekend with a stop at the home of Joe and Angela Regan -- Theo's Great Aunt and Uncle -- in Sharon, MA, where Theo was introduced to the vast Regan clan. We were all too tired (see below) to take pictures during this leg of our trip but needless to say, Theo was adored by all who crossed his path.
