Top 20.

My sister-in-law chided me for not picking a more inspiring quote in my last post. Something like "be the change you want to see in the world" or that kind of junk. Naaaaa. Maybe "do the best you can" isn't a quote per se, maybe it's not flashy, but it is a string of words that mean a lot to me. I will not change my quote, Kate, despite the blogger's remorse I was feeling when I talked to you this morning.

Onward, to 20 of my favorite things (I'm assuming this doesn't include people. And that this isn't my ultimate favorite 20 things in the world but just 20 random favorite things. In no particular order):

1. Theo's lips when he eats -- they curl in a certain way that I love.
2. Watching Theo sleep.
3. Lite FM.
4. Pumpkin muffins, lattes, bread -- all things pumpkin.
5. My husband's sense of humor.
6. Sobriety.
7. 7-layer bars.
8. the book Love in the Time of Cholera
9. the Stevie Wonder song "I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)" -- Jon surprised me with a dance to this song at our wedding.
10. Sunny days in San Francisco.
11. Theo sleeping through the night. This is probably more aptly put at the top of the list. 12. My hair after not washing it for a few days -- once it's clean again it's radiant.
13. Well-sculpted brows.
14. Alcoholics Anonymous.
15. An el pastor burrito with sour cream from El Toro.
16. An iced coffee with milk, no sugar.
17. When the grout in between the tiles on the wall of the bathroom is clean, no mold.
18. The smell of the dryer.
19. The stillness of the house when Theo naps.
20. The stone Jon brought me when I was about to give birth to Theo. He got it in the hospital at the Chapel, something of a good luck charm, if you will. It was very sweet and I want to pass it on to my sister-in-law who is having her baby tomorrow!

  1. One tenth of the things are in San Francisco, which means you should probably just move back, okay?
