Long Overdue Update.

I've been remiss in updating and posting photos, especially the Easter photos from NYC. I desperately hope to avoid Weymouth Baby going the way of so many other projects I've started then shelved, i.e. my Amnesty International letter writing campaign, sewing, etc. But we've come this far, and my intention is to keep marching along, keeping Theo's public informed.

To start, we drove to NYC a few weeks ago to spend Easter with Uncle David and Aunt Donna. The rides to and fro were a delight -- Theo enjoyed listening to the same three songs from Putumayo Animal Playground, never deveating from that line-up (Animal Crackers, Monkeys on the Bed, and Never Step on a Snake). Donna's mother Rosie cooked us a wonderful Easter dinner and entertained Theo to no end. We also had a trip to Central Park on the N train and the Queens Museum of Science.

In other news, Theo's vocabulary is bursting at the seams. The other day he said to me "I'm in charge." Huh. Sort of. Not sure where he got that, but I do struggle every day to set boundaries and let Theo know that, in fact, I am in charge. But he puts up a good fight, especially when it comes to watching Thomas the Tank Engine. That Thomas has a hold on Theo like none other. Thomas is pretty adorable -- a British train that says things like "fizzling fire boxes." But he's interfering with just about everything so I'm trying to steer Theo away from it. Theo does not like that.

He also has a new routine that involves "going to see if the choo-choos are on." We drive around to the local train tracks and see if there are any trains coming. I happen to know the schedule of the commuter rail, and I plan it so that we see the commuter rail in the morning (Theo has been getting up at 5 so we have plenty of time to kill). That's a big hit. What's funny is that if we don't see any trains Theo says, "we better come back Monday." I have no idea where he got that from but it's pretty adorable.

Lots more -- pictures from NYC to follow.
