I'm way behind! Why am I so crappy at blogging. I have a few theories, mainly that (a) I am lazy (b) I spent the last six month feverishly looking for a new job (found one!) and (c) because my phone takes crummy photos. But we must forge ahead.
To summarize:
Theo finished Kindergarten with a bang and after a camping trip with Jon to Peddocks Island Theo starting Skills for Living camp at the Stoughton YMCA, which was five weeks of swimming, archery (!), crafts, reading -- the usual camp fare. Except the archery. I found that fascinating -- allowing 6-year-olds to mess around with bow and arrows. Anyway, Theo returned each day unscathed.
Now camp is over and Theo is relaxing -- we spend weekends at the local pool and soon we will be off to Buffalo for are now annual trip. Unfortunately, this has been the summer of screens, as Minecraft Mania has reached our lives. I finally had to install the app that just shuts of the iPad off after a certain amount of time because Theo has a feverish look in his eyes when he's playing and if I don't take it away I'll lose him completely to this game that quite honestly looks like a colossal bore.
Oh, Theo also took a trip with Jon to Sunny Hill in the Catskills. Photos to follow.
It all reminds me that God damn, summer was fun as a kid. I want camps and trips and pools and long, lazy days at the beach with Grammy. Where's my camp? That's what I want to know. Camp crappy job, is more like it.
