The Innocence that Precedes Video Game Addiction.

So, I'm going to just pretend it hasn't been 7 months or so since my last entry. I still value the Theodore Edmund Regan Chronicles, and I do not intend to throw the towel in. Therefore, I will just pick up as though my sabbatical never happened.

Today, Theo and I went to Cohasset to enjoy the balmy 40 degree afternoon. We ran some races around the Common and went to the library where we actually left empty-handed because oddly I couldn't decide on any books -- Theo is somewhere past picture books but not in love with chapter books with no bright, glossy pictures. I can't really blame him. Who wants to read about Jack and Annie and their flying treehouse without being able to see the damn treehouse? So tonight we'll stick with what we have which is a host of books that Theo got for his birthday from Grandpa and Grandma, including Timmy Failure.

All is well, relatively speaking -- Theo is busy, we're all busy. He is happy and smart and unfortunately obsessed with Lego City Undercover (some crappy, fresh video game he got for his birthday). Obsessed. Addicted. Scary. Limiting how often he plays -- 30 minutes per day, only on the weekends -- only makes his longing for the game grow stronger. Frightening. More as that unfolds.

In the meantime, here is Theo, happy and outside and away from the Wii (but wearing it on his shirt), and enjoying fresh air and racing and making up word games -- good, clean fun.
