Wow! Tough way to usher in 40...a note home from Theo's teacher, a trip to the school baseball diamond at 7pm to find Theo's Spider-Man thermos, carelessly left behind because he "didn't feel like putting it in my backpack" and me riddled with self-pity because I spent my birthday evening looking for a $5 thermos simply to teach Theo a lesson. The thermos leaks, for God's sake.
By the time we got to the cupcakes though we had turned things around somewhat despite no Spider-Man thermos and some holes in Theo's story about what happened at school that day.
