Monument at the Bathing Beach in Hingham.

Theo had to go see a local monument for Boy Scouts -- to earn a sought after "belt loop" -  and so one Sunday morning we set off on an adventure like none other. I had in mind the Abraham Lincoln statue in Hingham (Lincoln's great-great-great Grandfather Samuel was a Hingham resident). Theo, however, steered us toward Victory, an "All Wars" monument at the bathing beach. We learned it was purchased by the town in 1929 for $20,000, and then snapped this photo as proof of our journey.

Unfortunately, Theo was sick the next day and missed Scouts. No belt loop this time. Still, our journey was not in vain, as I'd never noticed the statue despite many trips to the beach.

Keen eye, Theo!
